“The BGS camp was a very incredible experience and I am very happy that I got to be a part of it. I got to meet knew friends, improve my squash and play with great players from around the world. I felt improved when I left and I hope to come back next year.”SABINE BALL
“The BGS Summer Camp went far beyond my expectations; I learnt new aspects of technique and I made lots of new friends who I shall never forget. I would like to thank BGS for all their care and attention and I would certainly love to return another year.”NICOLÁS LAMPREA
“I’m really happy with how my squash game has gotten better from my time in Barcelona. I went there to get fitter and faster and that happened, I also got better shot selection and thought the coaching was very good. Apart from squash, the camp was a lot of fun; I love the city, the activities that we did like the amusement park and more. It was a wonderful experience.”EWAN HARRIS
“I think I learnt more about squash in 1.5 weeks at BGS than I had in 2.5 years playing the game. I also met passionate, inspiring, and unforgettable people while also having fun in an amazing city; it blew away any expectations I had, and was an incredible experience. Thanks to everyone at BGS for making it possible! “JASON KIM

2019 BGS INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR SUMER CAMP 1 STARTS IN
IKER PAJARES, AN EVER-IMPROVING BGS PERFORMANCE ACADEMY PLAYER
The last few weeks have been milestones for BGS and for Spanish squash. READ WHY!
The last few weeks have been milestones for BGS and for Spanish squash.
Firstly, big congratulations to the Spanish team on a historic silver medal at the European Team Championships 2019 staged at the Edgbaston Priory Club in Birmingham. Never before had Spain reached the final since the event began in 1973. After a huge win against France in the semis-finals, Spain booked themselves a place in this year’s final against the favourites England who had to work hard to beat this impressive young Iberian team.
Spain really impressed everyone with their commitment and how they pushed themselves on court.
BGS is proud to have contributed (3) of the players to the (5) man Spanish team.
Last year was a historic bronze, this year a historic silver, and next year………….?
Secondly, massive congratulations to the ever improving Spanish star and BGS Performance Academy player, Iker Pajares, currently ranked WR#58. At the Wimbledon Club Squash Squared Open 2019, this 22 year old from Barcelona had a massive run of victories taking out none other than the WR#11 Omar Mosaad in the 2º round, WR# 20 Daryl Selby in the quarters, and WR#17 James Willstrop in the semis (3-0) to finally finish runner-up after pushing WR#21 Marwan Elshorbagy in the final. Iker’s result is undoubtedly the best of his still young career, is a major achievement and proof for trusting in the BGS process.
No doubts that this is just the beginning.
BGS PERFORMANCE ACADEMY PLAYERS IKER PAJARES & EDMON LOPEZ FORM PART OF THE SPANISH TEAM THAT MAKES HISTORY AND WINS THE SILVER MEDAL IN THE ETC 2019.
For the first time since the European Team Championship was first staged in 1973, Spain made history in this year’s edition staged at the Edgbaston Priory in Birmingham reaching the final for the first time ever. Comprising Borja Golán, Iker Pajares, Edmon López, Carlos Cornes and Bernat Jaume with Sergio Garcia as reserve they were narrowly defeated by a more experienced English team who won the gold medal for the 41st time. This new generation of young Spanish players together with Spanish legend Borja Golán have put Spanish squash on a new level and at the forefront of the European squash arena.

BGS SIGNS A PARTNERSHIP WITH I-CON SPORTS TO HELP INTERNATIONAL JUNIORS TO OBTAIN SQUASH SCHOLARSHIPS.
WHO ARE I-CON SPORTS?
I-Con Sports was founded in Barcelona in 2003 by Marc Becker and Alexandra Costa with the addition of Rafa Nadal’s manager Carlos Costa as a partner. It’s goal is to help athletes in the complex and competitive process of attending universities in USA with athletic scholarships. Both Marc and Alexandra studied and competed in an American College by means of a sports scholarship.
HOW DOES I-CON SPORTS ASSIST PLAYERS?
I-Con Sports works with athletes from around the world in any sport that is offered by universities in the USA.
It works closely with the Rafa Nadal Academy and Rafa Nadal Foundation.
The new collaboration with Barcelona Global Squash will offer international squash athletes the opportunity to study a university degree with the help of a squash scholarship and/or financial aid to compete at the highest level by being part of a collegiate athletic program.
The combination of high performance varsity sport together with a university degree in the USA, in addition to the personal development acquired through living with fellow student-athletes from all over the world, makes a difference in the people that have the privilege of living this adventure, giving them the tools to be the leaders of tomorrow.
Now that various top US colleges are offering 100% SQUASH SCHOLARSHIPS, I-Con Sports now works with international junior squash players who are looking for the opportunity to continue their high performance sports development and in parallel continue with their academic studies in an American college.

Player from Yale
This player is one of a small number of college players who is combining university studies with professional competition.
Summer 2018: 4 week intensive training program in Barcelona Global Squash working with Head Coach Victor Montserrat and Head Fitness, Strength & Conditioning Coach Bet Consegal.
The training we did at BGS was both hard and effective. The sessions are long and 100% focused on very squash specific details that allowed me to improve my game quickly. They both have an amazing knowledge of the game and I learned a lot from both of them.
From Buffalo. USA.
BGS: You’ve just graduated from Canisius High School and are starting as a Freshman at Franklin & Marshall this September. First of all tell us what made you come over to Barcelona and BGS.
Player F&M: In Buffalo, New York the Squash community lacks high level competition and instruction. That lack of skill forced me to look for more competitive squash. During my search I found BGS and after learning more about BGS the choice was easy. The Barcelona Global Squash academy offers some of the most elite squash training in the world. Not only that but after my three week stay I left playing at a much higher and disciplined level along with some life long memories I will never forget.
